Zuckerberg's vision of the metaverse is in trouble?
The metaverse was once heralded as the future of the internet, with Meta (formerly Facebook) at the forefront, pouring billions into its development. But the avatars look like Nintendo Wii characters from 15 years ago. Meta’s ambitious vision for a metaverse-driven world faces significant challenges.
It seems that the idea of a meta-universe remains attractive. But more time is needed to create truly useful applications. Users seem to expect real, tangible benefits from the meta-universe. And if Meta fails to deliver them, the public opinion of the project may deteriorate even further.
